The 11th African Youth and Governance Convergence (AYGC) has been duly launched in Southern Africa. The Partner’s Breakfast and Fundraising meeting was held at the Best Western Plus Grand Hotel in Lusaka- Zambia, in preparation towards the main event which will take place in Ghana at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel from the 11th to 18th August 2019, under the theme: “Partnerships for Youth Development: Key to Building Africa beyond Aid.”
In attendance were the Honorable Joe Kapambwe (Guest Speaker), Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Child Development as well as the Member of Parliament for Kapiri Central, Honorable Stanely Kakubo (Special Guest), Executive Director, Youth Bridge Foundation, Mr. Seth Oteng and H.E Mrs Margaret Ekuwa Prah-Ghana’s High Commissioner to Zambia, AYGC Alumni and Zambia Youth across the country. The Alumni shared their experiences from past Convergences and pledged their support to rally Zambia’s Youth to participate in AYGC 2019.
Initiated and convened by Youth Bridge Foundation (YBF), the African Youth and Governance Convergence (AYGC), since 2009 has served as a platform for grooming young people in Africa and beyond the continent in the areas of leadership and governance.
Since 2013, the AYGC has served as a Youth Leadership Grooming Programme with themes consistent with the need for Africa to localize and own the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
