The Youth Bridge Foundation (YBF) has entered into a collaboration with the Czech Republic under its Transition Promotion Program to advance youth inclusion and participation in the local governance system in Ghana.
The Project under the theme “Building capacity and promoting inclusive participation of youth in local governance and decision making process” will seek to demystify local governance as the preserve of the elderly and build knowledge, competency and confidence of the youth for meaningful participation and contribution to the policy planning processes in their respective localities.
At the signing of the contract, Ambassador H.E. Jan Füry reiterated the Czech Republic’s commitment to advancing democracy. He further added that the Republic recognizes the power of the youth as the majority segment of Ghana’s population and that this step will go a long way to supporting youth inclusion in local governance in Ghana.
In response, the Executive Director of the Youth Bridge Foundation, Mr. Seth Oteng assured the Ambassador of the Foundation’s diligence on delivery like it has done in previous projects. He also commended the Czech Government for supporting the Campaign; a move he described as an early start to the local level elections in Ghana in 2 years.
YBF remains the only implementing organization in Ghana running a project under the Czech Republic’s Transition Promotion Program.
We entreat interested stakeholders to visit the www.youthbridgefoundation.org or follow Youth Bridge Foundation on all social media platforms for updates on the Campaign.
